The seeds of your fruit

Galatians 5:22-23But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Have you ever seen a fruit with seeds that are all equal in size?

Or fruits from one tree with all equal sized seeds e.g. Mango tree?

No? Neither have I.

They tend to vary in size… Some big, others small and some others really tiny.

Although sizes differ, they all have the potential to produce a tree with is own fruit. Once planted, the size of the seed will not determine whether the fruit produced will be large, small or tiny.

Your fruit is your identity.

The seeds are your character traits. Just aa seeds differ in size, your traits also differ in robustness. Somethings you have in abundance, others you might have in tiny quotas.

Do you worry that the size of your ‘love seed‘ is small compared to other less pleasant seeds you have within you? Or that your ‘patience seed‘ is quite wee and cannot sustain you in that family, relationship or environment?

It is ok!

Plant it anyway!

The seed will produce fruit that is the same varying size as those large seeds. You just need to sow it!

Maybe you think, there is more work required for a small seed vs. a large one.

Anything planted requires a work! Tending, weeding, watering, pruning….

This work cannot be discarded regardless of the size of the seed.

So your small seed has just as much potential as the next person’s large seed.

The question is:

Will you sow it?

Will you tend to it?

Will you do the work that will transform that potential energy into kinetic energy?

I am asking myself the same.

Castles in the sky

There are no rules of architecture for a castle in the clouds- Gilbert K. Chesterton

The Holy book (The Bible) says that if one must build, choosing the right foundation is important. Counting the cost- is important.

Even cartoons have shown us that flimsy materials get huffed and puffed down by the big bad wolf.

Gilbert says setting rules for castles with no foundation is pointless. I take this from his statement- there is no limit to what you can dream when your castle is in the clouds!

Dream big!

Build, expand and diversify!

Your castle is as big as your mind can make it!

However, how this castle holds when it needs to come down to earth is dependent on the foundation it is laid upon!

The Earth in this scenario is your life! Will this castle fit? Do you have a sturdy enough foundation to accommodate your castle? Have you put in the work on ground to match the extent of your castle?

If the foundation is too small or weak, and the castle is large and elaborate, it cannot stand!

If the foundation is large and strong but the castle is too small, it will dwarf the structure.

What ideas, innovations, books, etc. have you built in your clouds of imagination?

How have you prepared your foundation- your life, skillset, mindset, habits etc. to accommodate your castle?

Take that class!

Launch that idea!

Step out and jump!

There are no buts…

Because what if you excel!

What if you change the world!

What if you fly!

Like Nike, Just Do It!

What’s your coin Worth?

A quarter!

A dime!

A nickel!

A penny!

These are all coins with different values.

Each of us have coins in our hands. Some have fifteen pennies, some have four nickels and others have one quarter.

Are you focused on the several pennies that you are loosing sight of your quarter?

Are you complaining that you have one and someone else has four or fifteen that you can’t see that value of what is in your hand?

Are you focused on the size of your coin (dime) compared to the next person’s coin (penny) that you are loosing sight of your worth?

It is always easiest to equate better/bigger with more however, bigger/more isn’t always better.

It is like buying one Chanel bag vs. Ten Aldo bags (no shade to Aldo 😩👀).

You have quantity in the Aldo however the quality and timelessness in the Chanel is unmatched.

Your one is very valuable!

It is said that ‘comparison is the thief of joy‘ and dare I edit and include ‘comparison is the thief of joy, peace and fulfillment‘.

So I ask: what is in your hand? What is it worth?

Ultimately, the worth you give the content of your hand will determine how you view it and how value it above what others have!

What’s in your hand? 🤔
